Thomas O’Rourke Laid Down The Law
and cautioned the audience to be extremely careful, especially with new product strategies...
Mr. O’Rourke is an attorney with the firm of Bodner & O’Rourke, LLP

and then, Jay Fraser presented :
“Brand Protection
& Product Security

A mind bending and at times terrifying presentation of what is going on in the world and our industry. All camouflaged behind a rather bland title, Jay presented the hard facts about brand knock offs, product counterfeiting, and in all too many many cases, the consequential atrocities. The pain, suffering, even deaths, resulting from the consumption of fraudulent pharmaceuticals was mind boggling. However it isn't just Vitamins and Viagra. Although our industry seemed especially susceptible, anything with broad appeal and any value is likely to be copied and rarely well. As frightening as all this was, Jay explained the technology his organization was involved with. A truly hi-tech, yet well explained approach was introduced to an audience that was eager to hear something hopeful. Jay explained the difference between "Track and Trace", currently the domain of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and "Authentication", the focus of Tracer Detection Technology.
